Elie Wiesel, the world’s most famous Holocaust survivor, will be
interviewed in New York via video link-up from his birthplace in Sighet,
Romania, by Jerusalem Post editor-in-chief Steve Linde on Sunday, May 11.
Wiesel, 85, will be asked about his childhood memories of the old Jewish
ghetto in Sighet, Shoah education and his views on anti-Semitism,
Israel and the world today following the inauguration on Saturday night
of the “Holocaust Cellar” educational center in his pre-war home. “The
opening of the Holocaust Cellar supports my life’s efforts to ensure
that humanity never forgets the evil that took place there and
throughout Europe,” Wiesel said ahead of the event.
The historic interview will be live-streamed on JPost.com at 4 p.m. and photographed by the Post’s Marc Israel Sellem.
