The
stormy weather has been wreaking havoc. In Petah Tikva, a school was
flooded and some of the students were sent home. Some of the streets in
the city had to be drained because of heavy accumulations of water. On
Frankfurter Street, an electricity pole fell as a result of strong
winds.
In a moshav in the Petah Tikva area, police had to drain water from a disabled woman's home. In the coastal plain, eight people were rescued after they were trapped as a result of a stream overflowing. In Tel Aviv, a mother and her two children had to be helped out of their vehicle which had gotten stuck in surging waters. In Rishon Le'Zion overnight, firefighters came to the help of 10 people in various locations to provide weather-related assistance. And in Rosh Ha'Ayin, five people were trapped inside their transport vehicle by a giant puddle, and had to be extricated. In Umm El-Fahm, a number of electricity poles fell due to the powerful winds. Some homes lost electricity. |
