Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin, says that Putin isn’t planning on meeting President Volodymyr Zelensky following the fourth round of Ukraine-Russian negotiations on March 29 in Istanbul.

Ukraine loses over $560 billion from Russian invasion.
According to Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine has already lost $564.9 billion because of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Ukraine lost over $119 billion in destroyed infrastructure, the country is also expecting to lose over $112 billion in GDP.

Zelensky: Some mayors abducted by Russia turned up dead.
“(Russians) are kidnapping the mayors of our cities. Some of them we cannot find. Some of them we have already found, and they are dead,” President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with The Economist.

A third of Kharkiv residents fled city.
Over 30% of Kharkiv resident have now left the city, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. “But lately we have seen men, who evacuated their families, are returning,” said Terekhov. “Even some families are returning, because they do not want to live elsewhere,” he added.

According to Justice Minister Denis Malyuska, 42 countries have appealed to the International Criminal Court in The Hague concerning Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

Russia kills 143 children in Ukraine.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 143 children have been killed and 216 injured, according to Ukraine’s Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova. The actual numbers may be higher as Ukraine cannot reach some cities due to heavy fighting.

Germany considers missile defense system in response to Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In an interview with ARD broadcaster on March 27, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that “we need to be aware that we have a neighbour who is prepared to use violence to enforce their interests.” Scholz did not specify which system Germany intends to purchase, but Germany has earmarked $110 billion to beef up its military.

Hollywood honors Ukraine at 94th Academy Awards.
Stars of the film industry honored Ukraine with a moment of silence at the 94th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on March 27 urging viewers around the world to help. “We’d like to have a moment of silence to show our support for the people of Ukraine currently facing invasion, conflict and prejudice within their own borders,” read one of the cards that appeared on screen during the ceremony. “While film is an important avenue for us to express our humanity in times of conflict, the reality is millions of families in Ukraine need food, medical care, clean water and emergency services. Resources are scarce and we — collectively as a global community — can do more.”

General Staff: Russia withdraws troops from Kyiv Oblast following ‘significant losses.’
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said via Facebook on March 27 that up to two Russian battalion tactical groups have withdrawn to Belarus due to “failed offensive operations” in the region.

Hacker group NB65 claims it hacked All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
The hacking group linked to the group Anonymous, said via Twitter on March 27 that it has retrieved over 870 gigabytes of information from the company and will eventually release it. The company’s principal assets are Russia-1, Russia 24, and RTR Planeta TV channels.

According to the U.K. Defense Intelligence update, the destruction of the large Saratov landing ship near port city of Berdyansk will likely “damage the confidence of the Russian Navy” and prevent them from the further coastal operations. Ukrainian armed forces destroyed the ship on March 24.

The Ministry of Defense stated that out of the four airplanes, three were shot down while carrying out airstrikes on Kyiv Oblast.

An estimated $63 billion in Ukrainian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed as of March 24. The losses include more than 4,400 residential buildings, 92 warehouses or factories, 138 health care facilities, 12 airports and 378 education institutions, according to the calculation by the Kyiv School of Economics.

According to Education Minister Serhiy Shkarlet, 74 educational institutions are destroyed completely.

Ukraine seeks to raise taxes for companies that work in Russia.
The Ukrainian parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers have drafted a bill that increases the rates of income and property taxes for companies with revenue streams in Russia, MP Danylo Getmantsev announced via his Telegram channel.

The explosions can mean that Russian missiles hit targets or were taken down by Ukrainian air defense. Local authorities call on citizens not to publish photos and videos of the strikes. Air alert went off in almost all of Ukraine’s regions.
